As a family photographer in Phoenix, I talk about “golden hour” all the time—and for good reason. That soft, diffused light right before sunset is flattering, cinematic, and emotional. In October, it hits just right. The sun hangs lower in the sky, creating that dreamy, backlit glow that makes every image feel magical. Bonus: you’re not wrangling toddlers in the heat of the day. That’s why fall in phoenix is the perfect time for family photos.
Cooler Temps = Happier Kids (and Adults)
Let’s be honest: no one wants to smile for the camera when it’s 103 degrees. But in October? It’s cool enough to dress the kids in their favorite fall outfits and enjoy the session without stress. Everyone’s more relaxed—which means more natural expressions, more real moments, and way less bribery.
The Rose Garden Is in Bloom
Phoenix’s fall isn’t famous for foliage—but it is famous (in my book!) for the re-blooming Rose Garden. The soft pinks, warm golds, and deep reds provide a rich, romantic backdrop that’s both timeless and a little unexpected. Trust me: it’s the kind of setting that elevates your portraits into art.
Book Now, Stress Less Later
Planning your session early means you can cross “holiday photos” off your list before the season gets chaotic. You’ll have plenty of time to order prints, gifts, and cards—no last-minute rush, no second-guessing your outfits.
The Rose Garden Legacy Minis happen just once this fall, and they’re designed for families who want more than a few quick snapshots. These are for parents who want images that feel like legacy—capturing this fleeting moment in a way that’s beautiful, relaxed, and actually enjoyable.
Spots are limited, and they’ll go fast. Now is the time to book your fall family photos here in Phoenix.

newborn, maternity, and family photographer in phoenix arizona
My calling in life has always been to nurture and take care of people in whatever capacity that means. After spending years as a nurse taking care of patients, I felt my calling shift to motherhood photography after having my second child. I knew, without a doubt, that I could serve people just like I had as a nurse, but in a completely different way.
To me, I'm taking care of mothers in an unexpected way. Most people go into a newborn or family shoot feeling like they have to take care of everything: making sure baby and any other siblings have clothes and food and getting themselves dressed.
But, my clients come into their shoot feeling taken care of.
